Born and raised in Atlanta, Marcelle grew up with a deep respect for discipline, tradition, and excellence. An athlete for most of his life, he spent 37 years playing baseball, fast-pitch softball, and league sports — including competing at the state level — and later added volleyball to his athletic journey. That competitive spirit, commitment to mastery, and drive to always improve would follow him into every chapter of his life.

Marcelle smoked his first cigar in 1999 — a smooth cognac cigar — and from that moment on, he developed a taste for quality. Starting at the top set the standard. He didn’t just enjoy cigars; he studied them, appreciated their craftsmanship, and understood the culture and connection they create. What began as passion grew into purpose.

A proud father and grandfather, Marcelle believes deeply in family, tradition, and doing everything with intention. His father always told him, “Whatever you choose to do in life, be the very best at it.” Marcelle took those words to heart. From his first job at 15 washing dishes at Atlanta’s historic Pascal’s restaurant to becoming the owner of Marcel Cigars, he has lived by a code of excellence, consistency, and hard work.
